A West Aussie woman is now a multi-millionaire, thanks to her December $5.9 million OZ Lotto win.

The woman from Perth’s southern suburbs said she wasn’t intending to buy an OZ Lotto ticket when she stopped by The Lucky Charm Waikiki.

“I went to the newsagent to buy a book, but they didn’t have it,” she said.

Instead of buying the book, she walked away with a Slikpik 18 that matched the numbers to the entire $5.9 million Division One prize.

“I’ve been playing for donkey’s years and the most I have ever won is $66,” she said. “This win is going to make a massive difference to my family.”

This multi-million-dollar win follows hot on the heels of a $7.5 million OZ Lotto prize, the biggest in WA so far this year, won by a southern suburbs couple in November.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said it was now the fifth WA OZ Lotto Division One win since May.

“These five big winners produced in May, July, October, November and now December, have shared in a collective $23 million worth of prizes,” she said. “[The] win also contributes to our fast-growing tally of Division One Lotto winners across all our games for 2020, which has now reached 74.”

Thanks to those who purchase Lotterywest tickets, all available profits support the WA community through the Lotterywest grants program.
